How do I make a purchase?

Shopping with Maarimaia is easy:

  • Use the left side menu to navigate product categories. You can also view our lookbook HERE for better view of our products .
  • All colours, sizes, fit, product measurements, size charts, care, composition and social info can be found on our product page. Please go through our product information carefully prior to making your purchase to ensure you have the right size, fit, and accurate description of the product.
  • Once you have found an item you want, choose your size & colour, and click on “ADD TO CART” button.
  • Click on VIEW CART, and amend your order, apply a discount code or click PROCEED TO CHECKOUT to complete your order.

Do I need to register to place an order?

Yes you do, but it is simple to do and allows you to order easily. After having clicked Proceed to Checkout at your shopping cart, you will be directed to the Check out page. At this point you will have to log in if you are a returning customer, or sign up if you are a new customer.

Alternatively, you may sign up/log in by entering your username and password on the slide out right panel menu.

Is my personal information kept private?

Rest assured, we take data protection very seriously, and your information will not be shared with other organizations apart from third parties directly involved in Maarimaia’s business entity ie. Logistics company, payment gateways. For more information please read our PRIVACY POLICY in full.

I’ve forgotten my password, what should I do?

To re-set your password, follow the “LOST YOUR PASSWORD” instructions on the sign in page. Fill in your email address or username and we will send you a password reset to your registered email.

A product is out of stock. How can I get my hands on the item?

Love something but unable to get your hands on it? Fret not. We regularly monitor and replenish stock levels based on customer’s demand and open backorders for items you love most! Click on the “ SAVE TO WISHLIST” button on the product page or the “♥” button on product listing page to save your items so we know you would like this item replenished. Once your product is added to your wishlist, you will be able to view the price as well as stock status which will be updated regularly.

Alternatively, email us at customercare@maarimaia.com to enquire on a particular item.

Can I cancel or amend my order if I change my mind?

Getting your order packed and delivered to you at the soonest is a priority for us. As such, we are not able to make changes to your order once check out is completed. This includes adding or removing products from your order, cancellation, change of address and/or payment mode.

However you may be able to return your order and place a new one. All returns will be refunded via store credit to your Maarimaia account for your next purchase.

Please review your order carefully to ensure correct and complete information is given prior to check out.

If I add a product to my shopping bag, does it mean that the product is reserved for me?

We are thrilled you have spotted an item you like. To ensure you get your hands on that item, please check out your cart as the items are only reserved upon checkout on a first come first serve basis. Wait no longer!

My order is still being processed. When will it be shipped?

We are working tirelessly to get your items to you as soon as possible. Kindly allow us 3 business days (may take longer on peak periods such as sales/promo periods) to process your order. Once it is ready and in the hands of our courier, you will receive a Dispatch Confirmation email which details the delivery lead time for your order, a tracking number and contact details of our courier for your reference.

Delivery periods vary from country to country and depending on the courier service you choose, may take longer. Delivery time listed on our website is just an estimate , but may take longer based on unforseen circumstances such as weather conditions etc. Do track your parcel with the tracking link provided to keep an eye on its journey.

If your parcel has not arrived by the stipulated time period, please email us at customercare@maarimaia.com and we will get back to you shortly.

I have a product missing from my parcel. What do I do?

We are very sorry that a product is missing from your order. To facilitate the checking process, it would be great if you could complete the following:

  1. Double check the invoice, which is included in your parcel, that the product is stated in the list.
  2. Email us at customercare@maarimaia.com with:

-Your order number

-Your registered email address

-The name, colour and size of the product which is missing

What if the product does not fit? (Peninsular Malaysia Customers)

For customers from Peninsular Malaysia:

It is important to us that our products fit you like a glove! İf not, you may decide to exchange for a different size or return your product for an alternate item.

To exchange:

1.Simply sign into your account and under My Orders , select the order number containing the items you would like to exchange and click on VIEW. You may only exchange for a different size.

2.Click on the “RETURN ORDER” button and choose the product(s) you would like to return.  Then, click on submit. We will then contact you via email with your Return Authorization number and exchange instructions. Alternatively, email customercare@maarimaia.com within 7 days of receipt to advise us of your order number and the reason for exchange. We will issue you with a RMA number via email.

3.Complete the RETURNS/EXCHANGE form that was sent together with your shipment and make your own arrangement to return the items to us through any registered delivery company with tracking number. Please indicate the preferred size for exchange on your RETURNS/EXCHANGE form. Include the RETURNS/EXCHANGE form along with the SALES INVOICE with your return shipment.

4.Check that the product has the original tags and is placed in its original packaging, unworn and unwashed.

5.All returns must be sent back to us within 3 days after the return is initiated (when you received your RMA number)

6.The product is your responsibility until it reaches us. We recommend that you insure the return shipment as you are under a duty to take reasonable care of the items and will be liable for damage to themselves until we receive them at our warehouse. In case of dispute, we also recommend you retain proof of sending. We cannot be responsible for any loss of any item(s) you have chosen to send. Use a registered courier/delivery service with a tracking code for added security.

7.Upon receipt, we will inspect and process your exchange/return request and an email of receipt and course of action will be sent to you. Once your exchange is processed, we will send your exchanged products free of charge via standard delivery to the original order’s delivery address.

8.Do note that currently exchanges are valid for orders within Peninsular Malaysia only. All delivery and customs charges will not be refunded. All other east Malaysia & international exchanges will be processed as a refund for store credit.

What if the product does not fit? (East Malaysia & International Customers)

The value of the shop credit will be the paid price of return item(s), in Malaysian currency(MYR) and credited into your Maarimaia customer account directly. Store credit for international returns are pegged to prevailing exchange rates stated by Malaysian banking and financial institutions. The store credit can be used to make any purchase on our site within 3 months from the date of refund. Unused credit will eventually be voided upon expiry. Remaining store credit after a purchase will remain in your customer account, until the 3 months expiry. Shop credit is STRICTLY NOT exchangeable for cash.

9.Returns may take up to 7 working days (LOCAL) or up to 3-6 weeks (INTERNATIONAL) to get back to us at our warehouse, depending on your location and chosen courier service. After which, refunds made via Maarimaia’s store credit will be credited within 5 business days to your customer account. If you do not receive the shop credit refund within this period, do email us at customercare@maarimaia.com and we’ll get back to you ASAP! Thank you for your patience and understanding

I’ve received a faulty product . What should I do?

We are extremely sorry to hear that you have received a faulty product. We would like to sort out this issue straightaway. As soon as you discover a fault, please email us immediately at customercare@maarimaia.com with:

-The order number

-The faulty item’s name and SKU code: looks something like MM16-001BLK

Attached clear photos of the fault from a few angles with description of the fault.

We deem a product faulty based on the following

-Manufacturing fault

-Product delivered is completely different from what is featured online in terms of style,size, and/or colour.

-Please note: Slight colour variance between the physical piece and what is featured on our website may be due to your computer/tablet/phone settings of saturation and brightness. Kindly allow a 20% variance . Handwoven fabrics may vary in colour, print, and texture, which are signatures of the human hand and may vary by piece. Items with delicate fabric may shrink,fade or transfer colour without proper wash and care. In these cases above, it will not constitute as a fault.

All defect cases will be handled on a case by case basis. We reserve the right to determine if a product is faulty or not as evidenced.

Once return is processed, please return the faulty item to us as a return following the usual returns procedure. Once we have received the item, we will issue a refund in the form of Store Credit .We will also reimburse your cost of shipping the faulty item back to us in the form of store credit and your next shipment delivery cost will be on us! Please INCLUDE YOUR SHIPPING INVOICE/RECEIPT with your parcel/ email it to us for us to reimburse your shipping cost.

Please note, customs duties/taxes will not be refundable.

Do you offer gift wrapping services?

We are as obsessed about pretty packaging as you are! We are constantly trying to bring you the best experience shopping with us. At the current moment, all orders come in a custom Maarimaia box wrapped in delicate tissue paper. If you are sending an item as a gift, you have the option to include a personalised note to the receiver free of charge.

How do I complete my purchase?

At the check out page, complete all necessary empty fields with your accurate details and review your order carefully. Ensure your email, address and other details are accurate. Fill in the order request box and Gift message box if applicable. Choose your delivery method. Choose your payment method via iPay88 or PayPal payment gateway. We accept major credit cards, Malaysia’s online banking services, and E-wallet.

Is it safe to use my credit card online?

Paypal is the leading online payment gateway GLOBALLY and uses SSL technology to keep your information safe. Ipay88 is an E-commerce payment gateway operated by Mobile88.com Sdn Bhd, a MSC status company since 2006 and is THE leading online payment gateway in Malaysia.

Can I choose the currency I pay in?

All orders will be processed in Malaysian currency, Ringgit (MYR) for local orders or American Dollars (USD) for international orders . International orders can only be processed via Paypal. The exchange rate will be pegged to the current prevailing exchange rate set by the Malaysian banking and financial institutions and will be determined by Maarimaia.

How will I know if my payment is successful?

An Order Processing email will be sent to you via email, with complete details of your most recent purchase once your order is successfully placed. If your card is authorised, payment will be taken immediately, and you will receive an email confirming that your order has been successful.If your card is not authorised, payment will not be taken, and we’ll email to let you know your bank or card issuer wouldn’t authorise the payment.Please remember that even if a payment isn’t authorised, it may look like Maarimaia has still taken the money as some card issuers may still reserve the money, for a short period of time.

How does store credit work as a payment method?

At Maarimaia, store credit functions like cash. Store Credit is typically credited to your shopping account when your returned parcel is completely processed and is refunded.Once you have Store Credit issued to your customer account, you have the option to deduct for your next purchase at check-out. If there is an outstanding amount after the initial Store Credit deduction, customers will have the option to make payment via Credit Card.Store credit is not transferable /refundable as cash. Store credit has a validity period of 3 months after which will be voided.

What is Wishlist?

You are able to save your favourite items in your wishlist for comparison or purchase at a later date. Once item is added, you’ll be able to keep track of the price and stock levels of the product. Click on the “Add to wishlist” button on product page or the heart shape button on product listing page to save to wishlist.

Please note, adding to wishlist does not reserve the item for you- items place in your wishlist can still be bought by other customers. Items will only be reserved upon check out. Click on the check out button on wishlist page to add items to cart.

Can i get a refund if the price has changed since i ordered it?

As an online business our prices change in response to fashion trends, stock and demand from customers. İn this case we will not refund the difference.

I have trouble checking out, what should I do?

We apologise for the inconvenience caused! This may be due to high volume of traffic at the check-out page. Please refresh the page and try again.

Which countries does Maarimaia ship to?

How soon will I receive my parcel?

Malaysia(Peninsular & East Malaysia)

All deliveries will be attempted at least once, within 3 business days from the day the Dispatch Confirmation email is emailed to you, according to the delivery selection you have made at the check out page. Please know that all delivery time frame are estimates and we are working round the clock to get your parcel to you ASAP, however delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances of which we are not liable.

International

Depending on your delivery option selected during check out, Normal International shipments will take between 5-16 working days depending on locations while Express International shipments will take between 2-11 days.Please know that all delivery time frame are estimates and we are working round the clock to get your parcel to you ASAP, however delays may occur due to unforeseen circumstances of which we are not liable.

What is your delivery and shipping policy?

We know how important it is to get your shopping to you ASAP! We make your order our priority and are as excited as you are to have your items with you soonest. As such, please indicate your preferred shipping method, shipping address and contact details clearly and completely at the check out page to avoid any errors and consequently delay the delivery process. How do I track my order?

To track your order, you may click on the tracking link provided in your Dispatch Confirmation email . Alternatively , you can track your order on your local courier’s site.

Will my parcel be charged customs and import duties?

For international shipping, you may be charged additional custom/import duties. Please do make the payment for your custom duties at your local courier/post office at your shipping destination for relevant authorities to discharge your parcel.

How do I reschedule my delivery?

Missed your delivery? No worries! All Maarimaia’s parcel needs to be signed and received. Don’t worry if you missed your delivery and follow the instructions on the Delivery Attempted card that will be left by the post man to reschedule redelivery or schedule a pick up .

Can I have my parcel redirected to a different address?

For security reasons, we aren’t able to change the address your order is being sent to once your order is placed. Don’t worry- if you’re not in when a delivery is attempted our carrier will leave a card advising how to proceed next.

Can I send my parcel to my place of work?

Yes you may! All you have to do is clearly fill in your name, your company’s name, and the shipping address in full. Please be aware that our delivery service is not a named delivery service so anyone at your place of work may sign for your parcel.

Can I have my order delievered to a PO Box address?

We’re unable to deliver to PO Box addresses at the moment.

Can I arrange for a fitting or collection at Maarimaia’s retail store?

At the moment we do not have a retail store. Please refer to the Size & Fit tab on the product page or the Size Guide  for precise product measurements & fit.

Can you help me with my discount code?

You need to enter the code exactly as it was given to you, without any spaces. Type or copy and paste the code into the ’Discount code ‘ box (you’ll find it on the ‘Confirm and Pay’ section, beneath the items in your order). Once you have entered the code, click on “APPLY DISCOUNT” and it will apply to your order. You’ll be able to check this underneath the items as the discount value will have been removed and the price amended. You must apply the discount code when you are checking out as it can’t be applied later in the check out process.

If your discount code is not working, please check the below:

-You can only use one discount code per order. This applies to our free delivery codes too.

-Discount codes cannot be used for gift vouchers, or when for paying delivery charges

-As our discount codes vary so do the terms and conditions of each, so make sure you check when you receive any codes. Codes may only be valid for certain items and the majority of codes will have an expiry date. You should be able to find the terms and conditions in the same place you found the code whether it be through an email or on our website. You can also check out our general terms and conditions regarding discount codes in our T&C here.

-Some codes will only work for specific customers or for specific countries. Some codes are only valid for one time use. If you have received the code via email the code may also be locked to that email address. Make sure you log in with that email address for the code to be valid for application.

Where can I get a discount code?

As customers ourselves, we love a great deal! We’d suggest that you sign up for our newsletter and check out the website often, as we do great promos from time to time to reward our customers. Stay tuned to our SOCIALS – Instagram, Facebook , or Pinterest for ad hoc discount codes!

What is the difference between store credit and discount code?

Store credit is credited when a return is made and processed successfully. It is automatically credited to your customer account with the final value of the return you’ve made. At Maarimaia, Store Credit works very much like cash, and you may apply your store credit on your next purchase . For any outstanding amount after the initial Store Credit deduction, you could top up the payment via credit card for all customers. All Store Credit have a validity of 3 months from the date they are disbursed.

A discount code is usually a discount off your total amount indicated at the check-out page, given out during a marketing campaign. The discount is presented in the form of a code, which you’d need to input at the DISCOUNT CODE field to enjoy the discount. The promotional voucher has no cash value, and is also valid for a specific time frame, depending on the nature of the campaign.

Can I use more than one discount code code per order?

No. Only one discount code can be used per order.

Must I create an account?

You have to create an account if you intend to check out. No worry, not only is it easy and hassle free, it also speeds up your check out experience. From time to time, we reward our registered customers with special promotions, events and discount codes. You can track your order status and process exchanges/returns via your account too.

To shop at Maarimaia, simply create an account by clicking on the right side menu, and click on REGISTER. Register with your preferred email address and you’re done! Complete the fields and click REGISTER , you’re now a registered shopper at Maarimaia!

You will also be prompted to create an account when you want to check out your cart.

I have trouble signing in to my account.

We are so sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please attempt again with the following steps:

-Check if you’re logged in with the email which you have registered with us before

-Enter your password. If you’ve forgotten your password, please click on the RESET PASSWORD link. Your new temporary password will be sent to you via email, which you can change upon signing in to your account.

What can i do with my customer account?

From your Maarimaia account, you can view your recent orders, manage your shipping and billing addresses, and edit your passwords and account details. You can also track your shipment, view order status, and request for a return via your account.

I am a local Malaysian customer, can I exchange my product ?

YES! At Maarimaia, we want you to be 100% thrilled with your purchase, we provide free local exchange service! We aim to portray the product(s) in its truest form – size, shape, colour. Each product’s unique measurement can be found in the Size and Fit tab to facilitate your decision making process. Please check your size and measurement based on product measurement and our size chart to ensure best fit.

Please allow for 20% colour discrepancy as products may appear different in different screen resolutions/brightness/colour. For handwoven fabric, subtle variations in colour, print or texture are the signatures of the human hand. An exchange for this reason will be gauged on a case to case basis.

I live in Sabah/Sarawak, can I exchange my product?

Currently we only allow exchanges for local PENINSULAR MALAYSIA residents only.  As we are a young brand, at present moment we are unable to accept east Malaysia and international exchanges. Although we cannot exchange your item, we will process all returns from East Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak) and international as a return for STORE CREDIT, which you can apply with your next purchase.

I am an International customer, can I exchange my product ?

I have removed the Garment tag, can I still exchange/return the product?

We have a STRICT POLICY on our exchange/returns, that all garment tags , labels and packaging must be intact and returned and garment must be UNWASHED and UNWORNED. We will not accept returns/exchanges that do not meet this criteria. For an indepth view of our exchange/return policy, click on our EXCHANGES and RETURNS link.

How can I exchange/return my product?

To make an exchange/ return, please contact us for a RMA number and complete the exchange & return form. Every returned package must contain the Exchange & Return form as well as ORIGINAL SALES INVOICE, both of which will be included in each parcel when sent to you. The product is in your care until it reaches us! You may appoint your preferred delivery courier, but ALL RETURNS/EXCHANGE must use a REGISTERED POST/COURIER service with TRACKING NUMBER. For added security, insure your parcel. We will not be liable for any loss/damage of the parcel before it reaches our warehouse.

I have posted my parcel to you. Have you received my returned items?

Do you refund delivery charges if I return something?

We will usually refund you what you paid for your order but not the delivery charge. Please click on the EXCHANGE AND RETURNS link.

What should I do if my STORE CREDIT refund is incorrect?

We’re really sorry if we’ve made a mistake with your Store Credit refund! If this is the case, please email customercare@maarimaia.com immediately and we will try to sort it out for you as soon as possible.

The following may affect the amount you have been refunded:

  • Any fee which may have been incurred in returning the item . For example delivery charge/processing fee.
  • Any discounts/promo that were applied at the time of sale, which may not now be applicable.

Can I return more than one order in the same parcel?

If you need to return items to us from different orders then you can send them back to us in one parcel, provided all order meet the exchange/return local and international timeframe limit. Just notify us prior at customercare@maarimaia.com and request for separate RMA numbers for each order. Make sure that you include a separate returns note in your parcel for each order, and also include the relevant SALES INVOICE for each order into the parcel.

I returned an item and it was incorrectly refunded or replaced.

We are very sorry if we made a mistake. If you asked for an exchange and got a Store Credit refund instead, it’s probably because we couldn’t change the item for the one you wanted. In this instance we issue you with a refund so you have the choice to buy what you want instead.

If you wanted a Store Credit refund and we sent you a replacement item instead, please contact us at customercare@maarimaia.com so we can sort it out for you

If you’ve returned items from different orders in the same parcel and haven’t been refunded for all items, please allow 5 working days for all items to be processed. Otherwise, please contact us at customercare@maarimaia.com

What happens if I forgot to include my returns note?

If this happens, get in touch with us at customercare@maarimaia.com with your order number and details ASAP with your proof of postage and we will be able to help you further.

Where can I find your size guide?

Not sure which size to purchaes? At Maarimaia, we do our best to make shopping as easy as possible for you.

To find out which size suits you best, and the respective measurements for each size per design, please do the following:

-Click on the desired product and refer to the navigation bar on your right

-On the product page, you will see the detailed product description , size and fit and composition and care tabs on the right.

-Exact product measurements laid flat measured horizontally will be displayed for each unique product design in the Size and Fit tab.

-We also included model’s sizing and measurements for your easy reference. You may also see the product video by clicking on the bottom left icon of the  product picture for a better idea of the fit on model.

Do note that there may be slight discrepancy in measurements of up to 2 cm in the actual product as it may be due to the manner the product is produced. This is not considered a defect.

How should I care for my product?

At Maarimaia , we travel all around the world to source for local artisans in each country for unique handwoven fabric. As such , some fabrics may require special care due to the fragile nature of the fabric.

To learn how to care for your product:

-Click on the desired product and refer to the navigation bar on your right

-On the product page, you will see the detailed product description, size and fit, and composition and care tabs on the right

-All care and handling info will be displayed in the composition and care tab.

Each parcel comes with a composition and care card which you may also refer to.

The product I love is out of stock! Do you offer backorder or pre-order?

Love something but unable to get your hands on it? Fret not. We regularly monitor and replenish stock levels based on customer’s demand and open backorders for items you love most! Click on the “ SAVE TO WISHLIST” button on the product page or the “HEART” button on product listing page to save your items so we know you would like this item replenished. Once your product is added to your wishlist, you will be able to view the price as well as stock status which will be updated regularly.

Is my product reserved in cart?

Your product is not reserved until you check out. So what are you waiting for?

What is wishlist?

If you spot an item that you like but don’t want to buy right now, then you can add it to your wishlist. In your wishlist , you can compare products in term of pricing, stock levels and if you have decided on which product you like, you may directly add to cart. Items in your wishlist are not reserved.

How do I search for items on the website?

Just type in keywords on our SEARCH bar or the search icon. You may also filter and sort products based on your preference ie price, colour or size.

Does Maarimaia have any loyalty programs?

We are working on a loyalty program to reward our awesome customers! In the meantime, sign up on our newsletter as we constantly have promos and rewards to our subscribers.

Do you keep my credit card details?

No we don’t! we use a third party payment gateway, iPAY88, to ensure payments are quick, safe and fuss free. Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, please be assured we will not misuse your details, nor share them with any third parties without your permission.
